Office Hours & Availability
Daytime and evening appointments are available. Please call or email for availability. Important Note: My practice is full, with a wait list approximately nine-months long. If you need my advice sooner, you will find valuable perspectives in my podcasts and online courses. The latter comes with access to "Office Hours" (anonymous conference calls) where you can ask me questions regarding course principles as they apply to your specific situation. I prioritize students of my courses on my coaching wait list.
Format and Frequency
Coaching sessions can be conducted in person or by teleconference through an online HIPAA-compliant, encrypted platform. Webcam required.
Dr. Finlayson-Fife provides a maximum of six sessions to coaching clients. She will determine with you at the first meeting what number of sessions (anywhere from one to six) best suit your needs.
While I am a licensed therapist in the state of Illinois, I do not offer therapy services across state lines. Relational or personal coaching is different from counseling in that its focus is to facilitate personal and relational development, not to treat psychopathology. Coaching also requires the capacity in the client to tolerate direct input without it overwhelming or compromising one’s general functioning. Coaching is designed to uncover capacity and potential in the client with a focus on the client living up to his or her relational and personal potential. If I at any time determine that coaching is not the right fit (e.g. there is evidence of psychopathology and the need for therapeutic support), I will facilitate you finding a suitable licensed therapist within your state to offer the services you need, either in place of our work or in addition to our work. Coaching services are not intended to diagnose or treat mental illness or replace counseling services by a licensed individual within your state..
